At long last

We no longer need to feel the building vibrate as the carpet scraper does its job - all the carpet is finally scraped off the fifth floor. The scraped off scraps have been carted away to the dumpster. (Relative) silence has descended.
It's now official: the library will be closed to patrons from Monday August 2 through Sunday August 22. This is so that the third floor light fixtures can be replaced and the fourth floor can be readied for the start of the school year - books moved into their proper places, new furniture installed, etc.
