All day today is being spent framing the walls. The workers are putting up metal studs that the sheetrock will be attached to. It looks like it's going to be really nice, there are curved walls in some places.
It's pretty quiet today, except that there are bursts of nailgun activity that can be startling. During the Public Services library staff meeting this morning everything was going along fine when all of a sudden a hand appeared through a hole in the ceiling and a rapid fire nail gun was used on the other side of the wall. We decamped to my office.
It's dark in the library - there are many strings of utility lamps festooning the rafters. The architect has taken great care to ensure that the new lighting is beautiful.
Meanwhile, outside, much of the plaza has been reduced to rubble.
