What's that noise?

Today there has been an almost constant droning of power tools, punctuated by very loud clanging noises. When the workers took their well-deserved morning coffee break I investigated. A large steel framework is being constructed inside the former Hole in the ceiling. In order to achieve the curved shape, a small piece needs to be cut from the end of each metal beam. Therefore, what we've been hearing is the droning of metalsaws followed by the lopped off pieces of metal dropping from the ceiling onto the concrete floor.
